The Do Good Fund
A Visual Narrative of the Ever-Changing South
The Do Good Fund, Inc. is a Columbus, Georgia based public charity. Since its founding in 2012, the fund has focused on building a museum-quality collection of photographs taken in the American South since World War II. The collection ranges from works by more than twenty Guggenheim Fellows to images by lesser known and emerging photographers working in the region.
Do Good’s mission is to make its collection of more than 800 images broadly accessible through regional museums, nonprofit galleries, and nontraditional venues and to encourage complementary, community-based programming to accompany each exhibition.
Hallie Fivecoat
Hallie Fivecoat is a dedicated community art organizer and curator with a passion for fostering artistic engagement and public dialogue. As the Collection Manager for the Do Good Fund she works closely with artists and institutions to steward a growing collection of Southern photography. Her experience also includes serving as Donor and Development Manager with Midtown Inc., where she helped strengthen arts-driven community initiatives. Previously, she was also part of the team at the Telfair Museum of Art. She has curated and organized public art projects, including large-scale mural initiatives in Columbus, GA and Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally, she serves on the board of the Columbus Ballet, advocating for the arts in all forms.

Her time on The Do Good Fund team has resulted in an ever-growing pride of place, and an increased sensitivity to the Southern visual language which has directed her BFA senior thesis work at Columbus State University.
